Preschool in Cebadilla
Casa de Tierra joined forces with student volunteers from Boston College and Lasell College to aid in the construction of the San Juan del Sur Sister City Project preschool in the community of Cebadilla. We utilized a compressed earth block press to create natural building bricks consisting of sand, clay and water. The schoolhouse was constructed using these blocks as walls, bamboo and wood as posts, and earthen mixes for the plasters, paints, and floor.
